After Plitvice
National Park we packed up and left for Split. We booked an apartment through
Airbnb, and it’s amazing. After we finished rushing around, looking in all the
cupboards, dancing around when we saw the view, oohing at the washing machine,
and aahing at all the facilities the kitchen had, we settled in, calmed
ourselves, and enjoyed just being here. Since we’ve all been travelling for
weeks, we all so happy to be able to cook whatever we want, something that has
been either not possible, or difficult over the weeks we’ve all been
travelling. We’ve really splurged on the food in the few days we’ve been here;
cooking squid stuffed with spinach and feta, roast pork and vegetables, fresh
prawns, and all the salads and sides we could want!

We have a beach
nearby, which is about a 20-minute walk away. I didn’t get any photos, but it’s
another lovely clear and warm pebble beach. We spent quite a few hours there.
We had a wander
through Marjan, a nature reserve that leads you uphill to amazing views of the
Old Town, the sea and islands nearby. To get there, we had a stroll through the
Old Town, then up lots of stairs and uphill paths, until we reached a
viewpoint. We strolled a little further to find a quiet spot to watch the sun
go down. On the way down we could see the Old Town starting to liven up and the
street lights started to come on and made the town look more special.
Need to fix a sign? Apparently sticky tape will do it!
I'm not sure.
Exploring Marjan Park, Split, Croatia.
The view of the sunset from our spot!
Pastel skies!
Sunset + moon = so lucky!
Generally our stop
in Split has been about recuperating and relaxing, catching up and eating. Next
up is our weeklong sail around the islands of Croatia.
Next blog post; sailing around Croatian Islands!
Love,
Gem & Jace x
